The Landesmesse Stuttgart stands in Leinfelden-Echterdingen on the Filder plateau, directly next to Stuttgart Airport. The terminals are only a few hundred metres from the halls and can be reached on foot. For exhibitors flying in from abroad, few venues are easier to reach: land, walk to the stand, set up. So our shoot day does not start at the grounds but a few days earlier, at a desk.
Beforehand: Messe Stuttgart requires a dedicated form for commissioned photographers, the confirmation for photo and video recordings. With it the exhibitor declares that it has commissioned the named photographer for its stand (booth). We send you the form pre-filled, you sign it, and we ask for hall, stand number and any talk times at the same time.
In the morning: The venue has two visitor entrances. Entrance East is served by the stop Flughafen/Messe, where the S-Bahn lines S2 and S3 from the central station and the U6 light rail stop. Entrance West is served by the U6 stop Messe West and the West bus terminal. With the signed form we register before the first shot, at the information desk of Entrance East or West or at the main security office at the main vehicle entrance, Gate 1, depending on where your hall is. Our kit travels in rolling cases and needs no delivery slot. If the crew comes by car, we park at Entrance West, in the ICS underground garage or in the Bosch car park, which spans the A8 motorway opposite Entrance East and is reached directly from the motorway.
During the day: The halls are large and evenly laid out, stands sit in clear rows, and the standard halls 3 to 9 with their curved roofs shape the look of the venue. Overviews work while the aisles are empty; after that they fill quickly. From late morning we move to demos and conversations, shot from the edge of your stand. In a quieter phase we record interviews with lavalier microphones, in English, German, Arabic or Farsi.
In the evening: The first selection goes to you, the rest follows within 24 hours, so before your flight home from the airport next door. Companies from outside the EU are invoiced without German VAT; EU companies with a VAT ID receive a reverse-charge invoice. Travel from Essen is quoted once per trip and shared between exhibitors of the same show week.
The house rules of the Landesmesse Stuttgart prohibit photo, film, video and audio recordings for commercial purposes, in particular of stands and exhibits, without prior written permission. The form is the route to that permission, and it sets clear limits: only the named stand is recorded, the crew stays on the stand area and the space immediately next to it, and the aisles stay clear. We therefore shoot overviews of your stand from the corners of your space and from the aisle edge, not from the middle of the aisle.
One rule is typical of Stuttgart: lighting has to run on the exhibitor's power supply, and the hall lighting may not be switched on. For us that means we need a free socket on your stand. Please pass that on to your stand builder. Our LED lights then run on your stand power and keep products, portraits and machines properly lit, whatever the light in the hall is doing.
Drones are not permitted, and the venue's own equipment such as aerial work platforms may not be used. For raised angles we work from positions on your stand area. Outside opening hours the venue requires a paid security guard, ordered at least one week ahead through its service portal. If you want the empty stand after closing, decide early; otherwise we place every shot within opening hours. Under the form, data protection and third-party rights sit with the exhibitor, and we ask recognisable visitors before we shoot.
Many stands in Stuttgart use large LED walls and bright light boxes. To stop screens flickering or burning out in photos, we adjust shutter speed and exposure, and in video we match the frame rate to the walls. That keeps logo, claim and product images readable, even on a phone.
Autumn belongs to automation. Motek and VISION run on the same days in October, together with Bondexpo and interbad. At Motek and VISION, grippers, robots and camera systems are shown at work. We align with your demo schedule, film one complete work cycle and shoot burst sequences at the moment the product shows what it does. Because the shows run in parallel, exhibitors at different shows can share the same trip; each stand needs its own form. Arbeitsschutz Aktuell, südback, SÜFFA and the Adhesives & Bonding Expo follow through November.
CMT, 16 to 24 January 2027, is a consumer show for caravanning and travel, nine days long, with full halls and many conversations on the stands. People and atmosphere matter most here. We photograph consultations from the edge of your stand, keep the aisles clear as the venue requires, and use the calmer time shortly before closing for details. R+T comes in February, eltefa and TecStyle Visions in early March.
At LogiMAT, 16 to 18 March 2027, intralogistics is shown live with vehicles and racking. We film moving vehicles on a gimbal within your stand area and light racking and details ourselves. Fastener Fair Global follows in spring, Control in May and the Automotive Testing Expo in June, then parts2clean and Blechexpo in autumn 2027.
If you also give a talk, it is usually in the ICS, the International Congress Center Stuttgart, with congress hall C1, multifunctional hall C2 and seminar rooms, or in the L-Bank Forum in Hall 1.
