With eight halls, Messe Essen is more compact than Düsseldorf or Cologne — which makes it a pleasant venue to photograph. Short distances, manageable halls, and an audience that is largely made up of trade visitors. Regular formats include IPM ESSEN as the world's leading horticulture fair, E-world energy & water for the energy sector, SPIEL as the largest public board-game fair in the world, Security Essen, Techno-Classica, EQUITANA and SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN.
Our office is on Messeallee, 30 seconds from the entrance of Messe Essen. That has two practical consequences for you. We can step in at very short notice if a photographer drops out or images are suddenly needed. And we can go back to the office mid-show, review the material, and hand over finished files the same evening.
For most suppliers, 'short notice' means at least a few days of lead time. In Essen it does not. If you call in the morning and we have capacity, we can be at your stand the same morning.
This applies especially to the scenario we hear most often: the show is running, management asks for images for LinkedIn, and nobody planned for it. In that case, call rather than email.
Beyond the exhibition grounds we cover corporate events, anniversaries, award ceremonies and conferences across the whole Ruhr region — Essen, Bochum, Duisburg, Oberhausen and Gelsenkirchen. We know venues such as Zollverein Coal Mine, the Essen Philharmonic and the Colosseum Theatre from practice.

Messe Essen is in Rüttenscheid, in the south of the city, right next to the Grugapark and the Grugahalle. For visitors arriving by rail the route is simple: from Essen Hauptbahnhof the U11 light rail runs south to the two stops Messe West-Süd/Gruga and Messe Ost/Gruga, a few minutes apart. Which one you want depends on the hall, so tell us your stand number and we will tell you which entrance to use when you meet us.
If you are flying in, Düsseldorf Airport is the nearest international airport. Trains from the airport station reach Essen Hauptbahnhof in well under an hour, and the U11 does the rest. Many exhibitors from abroad stay in Rüttenscheid itself, which puts hotel, restaurants and stand within walking distance.
The fairs in Essen are a mix of international trade shows and large public events, and they need different plans. SPIEL Essen (22 to 25 October 2026) is a consumer fair with a dense crowd from the first minute, so clean stand photos only happen before the doors open. The ESSEN MOTOR SHOW (28 November to 6 December 2026) is similar: cars, tuning and motorsport, shiny surfaces and a lot of reflections from hall lighting.
January and February belong to the trade. IPM ESSEN (26 to 29 January 2027) is a horticulture fair, which means plants, colour and freshness: we keep white balance consistent across the day so greens and flower colours look the same in every image. E-world energy & water (16 to 18 February 2027) is a meeting show for the energy sector, where the useful pictures are conversations, panels and the stand as a meeting point rather than products. Baumesse Essen, Reise + Camping and Fahrrad Essen bring the public back in early 2027, followed by EQUITANA (18 to 24 March 2027), where horses in the arena need fast shutter speeds and a photographer who knows when to stay out of the way.
Later in spring come European Bridal Week (3 to 5 April 2027), a fashion trade show where fabric detail and catwalk moments matter, and TANKSTELLE & MITTELSTAND (2 to 3 June 2027). Security Essen took place from 22 to 25 September 2026.
Because there is no travel day, a booking in Essen is easier to split. Instead of one long block you can book a short slot before opening on day one for the empty stand and a second visit on a later day for interviews, without paying for a crew to wait around. If something changes on the stand overnight, such as a new product on the counter or a visit from your CEO, we can come back for it.
The same applies to delivery. We edit in the office a few minutes from your hall, so the first selection usually reaches you on the evening of the shoot and the full set within 24 hours, in formats ready for LinkedIn, your website and press.
