Unlike most German exhibition grounds, Hamburg Messe sits in the middle of the city. Eleven halls with 87,000 m² of hall space and 10,000 m² of outdoor area are split into halls A1–A4 and B1–B7; hall A1, at 17.3 m, is the tallest and takes large exhibits and stage builds. The CCH – Congress Center Hamburg, with up to 50 rooms, is only a few metres away. INTERNORGA, SMM, WindEnergy Hamburg, Aircraft Interiors Expo, OMR Festival, Nordstil and GET Nord are held here.
The central location means good transport links but limited parking and crowded entrances at peak times. We plan our arrival and equipment transport accordingly and agree in advance which hall area your stand is in and whether a stage or conference programme in the CCH needs covering.
A large part of our client base comes to Hamburg for a single week from the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Italy, the Gulf, Pakistan and China. Everything on our side runs in English — the quote, the briefing, the direction on the day and the delivery.
You do not need to arrange anything locally. We arrive with our own cameras, lenses and lighting, meet you at the stand, and agree the shot list in about ten minutes. We work around your meeting schedule rather than the other way round. The exhibition centre is in the city centre, a short taxi or U-Bahn ride from most hotels.
Invoicing is handled by a German GmbH with a VAT identification number, so for EU-registered businesses the reverse-charge procedure applies and no German VAT is added. Our own travel and any overnight stay appear as separate, clearly labelled lines in the quote — never hidden in the package price.
Hamburg is reachable from Essen, but it is not a short hop. For an early show start we travel the day before so that we are at the stand before the doors open — the only reliable window for clean stand shots without visitors in frame. Travel and, if required, an overnight stay are stated separately and transparently in the quote; they are not included in the package prices.
On multi-day bookings that weighs far less per day, which is why a full first day plus a shorter follow-up block often makes the most sense in Hamburg.
The hour before the doors open belongs to the stand: architecture, signage, exhibits, lighting — no visitors in frame and no crates in the background. These are the images for your website, your press pack and next year's stand proposal.
Between roughly 10:00 and 13:00 the footfall peaks. That is when the busy pictures happen: full stands, conversations, demonstrations, people in motion. Late afternoon, once the rush drops off, is the window for team portraits and interviews.
At INTERNORGA or Nordstil, presentation of the merchandise counts: food, equipment, materials, colour worlds — there we work closer to the product. At Aircraft Interiors Expo, SMM or the Hydrogen Technology Expo, technology, cabin and plant components and consultation dominate; there, conversation shots and demonstrations are the more valuable material. At OMR Festival the stage, the audience and networking scenes are the core.

For shorter assignments a full day usually makes more sense than a three-hour block, since the journey is incurred regardless. Many clients book a full first day and add shorter blocks on following days for interviews and stage programme.
Yes. If your brand is present in more than one place we plan the routes in advance. For parallel commitments we recommend a second photographer — included in the Premium package.
