IPM ESSEN is the leading global trade fair for horticulture: more than 1,400 exhibitors from around 45 countries and over 40,000 trade visitors in four areas — plants, technology, floristry and garden features. Plants are the most demanding exhibit there is: they wilt, their colours shift under hall light, and they look different on Tuesday morning than on Friday. We photograph them while they are fresh.

Red, magenta and deep violet are the colours cameras render worst, and exactly these colours dominate ornamental plants. Under the mixed light of exhibition halls leaf green drifts towards yellow and white blooms lose all detail. We work with our own colour-neutral light and a grey card, photograph ranges in a consistent setup and edit so a variety looks on the picture the way it looks in the greenhouse. Breeders and young plant producers get images that work in variety catalogues, on labels and in online shops.
In the technology area it is about potting machines, greenhouse technology, irrigation and substrates — large, often grey installations that we photograph in operation, with plant and operator in frame, so size and function make sense. In floristry it is about craft and movement: we photograph the hands at work and film demonstrations on the stand.
IPM is an ordering show. Decisions by buyers from garden centres and retail are made early, and your novelties are looked at on day one. A short video in which your breeder presents the variety in 40 seconds goes online on Tuesday evening — customers who only arrive on Thursday have already seen it. We record such statements with radio mics and deliver them subtitled, in German or English.
For exhibitors from the Netherlands, Italy, Denmark and elsewhere, briefing and the whole engagement run in English. You take finished material home instead of waiting weeks for an agency.
Plants age visibly during a show. What is firm and fresh on Tuesday morning has dry edges by Friday. That is why we recommend product and stand shots in the hour before opening on Tuesday, or Wednesday morning at the latest. Conversations, ordering scenes and interviews follow the same day once the aisles fill. A four-hour package on Tuesday covers both; if you have a large range, book the full day.
Red, magenta and white with our own light and grey card — images for catalogue, label and online shop.
Potting machines, irrigation and greenhouse technology with plant and operator in frame.
Hands at work, finished pieces and demonstrations on the stand, also on video.
Build, plant walls and lighting before the doors open, with no visitors in frame.
Your breeder presents the variety in 40 seconds — cut and online before the show ends.
Statements from management, breeders and customers with radio mics, subtitled.
A post with your stand while the show is still running gets seen and shared. That is why every package includes finished photos and video within 24 hours after the event ends — first images usually the same day. Two revision rounds included.
