Messe Friedrichshafen sits on the northern shore of Lake Constance, right by Friedrichshafen Airport. For us it is the longest trip from Essen. That is why we arrive the day before, recommend the Full Day package and deliver photos and video from Fakuma or AERO within 24 hours.

Of all the venues we cover, Friedrichshafen is the furthest from our office at Messe Essen. The grounds lie on the northern shore of Lake Constance, right next to Friedrichshafen Airport and between Lindau, Ravensburg and Konstanz. We therefore always travel the day before and are at your stand before opening, rested and with charged batteries.
Because the journey shapes the assignment anyway, we recommend the Full Day package for Friedrichshafen: eight hours on site, at least 120 edited photos, a 30-second highlight video plus a 90-second film, interviews and three vertical clips. That way you use the day in full, from the empty stand in the morning to the conversations late in the afternoon. Basic and Professional can be booked as well. If you are at the show for several days, we are happy to stay longer: further show days are available at a tiered price on request, and the travel is only incurred once.
Travel from Essen is quoted once per trip and shared between all exhibitors of the same show week. The more exhibitors at one show book us, the smaller each share becomes. We book the crew's accommodation early and include the travel share directly in your fixed-price quote, so you can plan with one fixed sum before the show.
On site we manage without a car. During events, according to the venue, the free MesseExpress, bus line 17, runs from the Stadtbahnhof and Hafenbahnhof stations to the grounds. There is also an Airport Express, the paid city bus line 5 and taxis. If you fly in from abroad, ideally you land at Friedrichshafen Airport right next to the grounds. For some shows the venue also offers transfers from airports in the region, with details on the page of your show. Our kit fits into rolling cases, no delivery is needed.
The grounds consist of two rows of halls: the A halls A1 to A7 and the B halls, linked by Foyer West, Foyer Ost and the Übergang Ost walkway. The largest hall is A1, the ZEPPELIN CAT Halle. According to the venue it measures 67 by 149.5 metres, has its own entrance with ticket desks and is also used for events and concerts.
In a hall of this size a stand (booth) easily gets lost in a wide shot. We therefore find a position on the floor plan beforehand from which your stand fills the frame, and choose the focal length so the scale of the hall shows without swallowing your stand. For details, portraits and interviews we use our own LED lights. With large exhibits such as aircraft or plant we combine wide shots for scale with close-ups of components and short video sequences that show how something works.
We have not found a general rule from Messe Friedrichshafen on photo and film work by commissioned photographers. What counts are the terms of participation and the exhibitor manual of your particular show. We read both with you and check four points: whether external service providers must be registered, which access times apply on build-up day, whether forums and stages have their own recording rules, and whether music on the stand has to be registered.
Beyond that, we follow the same principles as at every show: we photograph your stand and your exhibits, not those of other exhibitors, keep the aisles clear, ask recognisable visitors first and do not fly drones in the halls. We enter the grounds on the exhibitor passes you assign to us. If your stand is in A1, we use its own entrance, and in the other halls we set the meeting point by your stand number. For work on build-up day or before opening, we check with you which access rules your show sets for this.
Fakuma in October is the international trade fair for plastics processing. Injection moulding machines and automation cells run live on many stands, and that is exactly what customers want to see: the cycle, the mould, the finished part. We film the machine in cycle, photograph components in detail and capture customer conversations on the stand. We agree demo times in advance so the camera is ready when the machine runs. We photograph small components on a neutral background right on the stand, so you get clean product shots for your catalogue and website as well as the show pictures. Fakuma 2026 runs from 12 to 16 October, AERO 2027 from 14 to 17 April.
AERO in April is the show for general aviation. Aircraft, avionics and equipment need pictures that show scale and workmanship at the same time: the whole aircraft, the cockpit, the cabin details. Interviews with sales partners or pilots are recorded on the stand with lavalier microphones, so the sound stays clear despite hall noise. If you plan a reveal on the stand, we set up a second camera position for that moment.
Both shows are international, and many exhibitors fly in from abroad, from China, the Gulf, Turkey, Italy, Spain, the UK or the US. Briefing, direction and delivery run in English or German, interviews and subtitles also in Arabic or Farsi. Companies outside the EU are invoiced without German VAT, EU companies with a VAT ID receive a reverse-charge invoice.
A Full Day at Fakuma or AERO usually runs like this for us: stand overview, team photo and exhibits before opening, then demos and conversations, and interviews in a quieter phase in the afternoon. In the evening we send a first selection, and the complete material follows within 24 hours, usually before your flight home.
Cycle, mould and finished part at Fakuma, as video and detail photos, matched to your demo times.
From the silhouette to the cockpit at AERO, with wide angle and close-up.
Overviews from a clear position, so your stand fills the frame even in the ZEPPELIN CAT Halle.
Eight hours, at least 120 photos, 30- and 90-second films, interviews and three vertical clips.
Statements in English, German, Arabic or Farsi, with clear sound despite hall noise and with subtitles.
Registration of external providers, access times and stage rules of your show, cleared before we travel.
A post with your stand while the show is still running gets seen and shared. That is why every package includes finished photos and video within 24 hours after the event ends — first images usually the same day. Two revision rounds included.
