Sparks, laser light and machines weighing tons

Blechexpo is a fair where work gets done: lasers cut contours from sheets, press brakes bend edges, punching machines cycle, welding robots lay seams. For the camera that is a feast and a task at once. Flying sparks and welding arcs are many times brighter than the hall — we expose for the light of the process so sparks appear as lines and the arc as a point without the part sinking into darkness. Laser cutting systems are photographed through the protective glass at the moment of the cut, with the plasma glow at the cutting head as the centre of the picture.

The machines are large, painted and stand close together: we choose positions with straight lines that show the system as a whole and add details — cutting head, bending tool, gripper of the automation, operator panel with legible display. And we photograph the parts: cut edges in macro, bent parts with their radii, weld seams with side light that reveals the ripple.

Processing on video

No photo shows how fast your laser cuts or how steadily your robot welds. We film the processing sequence from two perspectives — overall view and close-up at the tool — in real time and in slow motion where sparks and motion warrant it, and cut a 30-second highlight for LinkedIn plus vertical clips for your dealers and subsidiaries. Statements by your application engineer or management are recorded with a wireless microphone in a quieter corner of the stand — the Blechexpo halls are loud — and delivered with subtitles.

Exhibitors present at both Blechexpo and Schweisstec are covered within one time window; the halls are on the same grounds.

Four days, every two years

Blechexpo takes place every two years; the material from Stuttgart stays current until the next edition in 2029 and replaces studio and factory shots in catalogue, website and social media for two years. It pays to concentrate the shoot on the machines you show in Stuttgart for the first time.

Tuesday is opening day with press and a high international share; Wednesday and Thursday bring the densest technical conversations and suit conversation pictures and interviews. For stand overviews without visitors we use the time before opening, when the machines are already running. Friday is quieter and good for part shots with time for lighting and for team portraits. You receive the highlight video and first images on the evening of the shooting day.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does a photographer at Blechexpo 2027 cost?

From €990 plus VAT for two hours of photo and video on site with at least 30 edited images and a 30-second highlight video. Four hours from €1,490, a full show day from €1,990. Travel to Stuttgart and any overnight stay are stated separately and transparently.

Our welding robot works with an open arc — is that possible without a burnt-out picture?

Yes. We expose for the arc and work with short shutter speeds so arc, sparks and part are recognisable at the same time. For the video we additionally film in slow motion.

We are at Schweisstec, not at Blechexpo — does the offer apply?

Yes. Both shows run together on the same days on the same grounds; we photograph stands at both on the same terms and also cover two stands within one time window.

Which of the four days works best?

Wednesday or Thursday for technical conversations and interviews, Friday for quiet machine and part shots. Stand overviews are taken on any day before opening, when the machines are already running.

Do you work in English?

Yes. Interviews, briefing and the entire engagement run in English — a large share of our trade fair clients come from outside Germany. Invoices with VAT ID for EU companies, no German VAT for companies outside the EU.
