Machine builders rarely bring a product you can hold. They bring equipment that weighs tonnes, moves, and stands under hall lighting designed for people, not cameras. Good show photos therefore do three things at once: they show the size of the machine, the detail your engineers are proud of, and the people who run it. A wide shot without a person looks like a rendering; a technician at the control panel gives scale and credibility.
Live demonstrations are the most valuable moment of the day and the hardest to capture. We use short shutter speeds when a robot arm grips or a tool engages, and deliberately longer ones when a material flow should become visible. On video we film a full working cycle in several angles, so the edit explains the process even without sound.
Safety comes first. We keep out of guarded zones, never enter cordoned areas and agree camera positions with your stand staff. If prototypes or assemblies must stay confidential, tell us in advance: those areas go on the shot list as no-shoot zones and no images of them are delivered.
HANNOVER MESSE in April is the central date for industrial technology. In autumn, EuroBLECH in Hannover covers sheet metal working, Motek in Stuttgart assembly and handling, and SPS in Nuremberg automation in November. Robotics shows at automatica in Munich, woodworking machinery at LIGNA in Hannover and additive manufacturing at Formnext in Frankfurt. Foundry and metallurgy meet at GIFA, METEC and THERMPROCESS in Düsseldorf.
The halls at these fairs are large, high and often darker than they appear. Stainless steel and painted surfaces reflect the ceiling spots, so we choose angles and fill light that remove glare, and we photograph control screens so the interface stays readable. In North Rhine-Westphalia, for example at all about automation in Düsseldorf, travel is included in the package.
The best time for the machine on its own is before the doors open: clean stand, protective film removed, no visitors in frame. From late morning, when technical conversations start, we capture the images your sales team will use most.
Before doors open: stand overview from the main aisle, the machine without visitors, detail shots of tools, axes and control panel. It is the quietest hour of the day and the only one in which the equipment stands completely free.
Morning: the first demo, photographed and filmed from two positions, plus the team photo in front of the brand wall while everyone still looks fresh. Midday to afternoon: technical conversations at the machine, customers at the panel, interviews with product management in a quieter corner of the stand.
At multi-day fairs such as HANNOVER MESSE we recommend a day with strong attendance, usually the second or third, so the stand looks busy. We agree the exact schedule with you before we travel.
Machine builders sell through long decision cycles and often through distributors abroad. That is why we deliver more than mood shots: detail images for data sheets and catalogues, stand overviews for the trade press, portraits of your application engineers for LinkedIn and your careers page.
The 30-second highlight film suits LinkedIn and newsletters; the 90-second film works on your website and in sales presentations. Interviews with your product managers explain a new machine in their own words, in English, German, Arabic or Farsi, with subtitles for the markets where your partners sell.
Vertical 9:16 clips show a machine in motion in a few seconds, ready for Reels, Shorts and your distributors' channels. Everything arrives within 24 hours after the show ends, so your team can follow up with leads while the show week is still fresh, and before international visitors have flown home.
Live demos with the right shutter speed, so motion stays sharp and easy to read.
Axes, tools, control panels and surfaces as detail shots for catalogues and data sheets.
Technicians and customers at the panel give scale and show who stands behind the product.
One process in several angles, cut into a 30-second or 90-second film.
New features explained by your experts, with a clip-on microphone despite hall noise.

Yes. Demos are often the most important images of the day. Send us the times and we plan positions and settings in advance, keeping clear of guarded zones.
Areas that must not be photographed go on the shot list beforehand. We do not shoot them, and if something appears in a background by chance, we drop or crop that image.
Especially then. A short film shows process and speed that a photo cannot. Add an interview with your product manager and you have an explainer for your website and sales team.
No. We work as a team of two or three, without flash bursts, and ask before photographing customers in conversation. Sales always comes first.
