automatica is the leading exhibition for smart automation and robotics: in 2025 it drew around 800 exhibitors from 40 countries and 47,500 visitors from more than 90 nations — the most visited edition so far. It runs alongside LASER World of PHOTONICS and World of Quantum, with one ticket for all three. On show is motion: six-axis robots, cobots, automated guided vehicles, grippers, machine vision. We photograph robots sharp in motion and film your demo cell so the cycle is understood.

A robot in a photograph is either sharp and stationary — then it looks like the catalogue — or it moves and blurs. Neither tells what your cell can do. We work with short shutter speeds and fast lenses to show the arm sharp at the moment of gripping, and with deliberately longer exposures when the motion path itself is the subject: the arm as a trail, the workpiece sharp at the end. Both need timing to your cycle, which we learn in the first minutes on the stand.
Safety fences, acrylic glass and light curtains stand between camera and cell. We photograph through the glass with a polarising filter and from angles in which the stand lighting does not sit in the pane, or — by arrangement with your application engineer — at standstill from inside the cell. Grippers, sensors and camera systems are additionally photographed in detail with our own light.
What a photo cannot do, a 20-second clip can: detect the workpiece, grip, join, place, return. We film your demo cell from a tripod in an overall view and with a second perspective on the gripper, plus slow motion for fast pick-and-place moves. From the footage we cut a 30-second highlight of the stand and individual process clips for your product pages and post-show reports.
Cobots and mobile robots only show their value with people next to them: the operator handing the arm a part, the AGV threading between visitors. We photograph such scenes documentary-style and without flash so the collaboration looks real. We conduct interviews with your application engineers in English or German with radio mics — the share of visitors from abroad is high.
Tuesday to Thursday are the strongest days; Friday is quieter and suits shots of the cell without onlookers and team portraits. We recommend a four-hour package on Tuesday or Wednesday: the hour before opening for stand architecture and the cell at standstill, then cycles, conversations and interviews. For stands with several demo cells the full show day makes sense.
automatica is held only every two years. The material from June 2027 carries your sales team to the next edition in 2029 — and because we take on no more than four exhibitors per show day, the Tuesday and Wednesday windows go early.
Short shutter speed for the moment of gripping, longer for the motion path — timed to your cycle.
End effectors, camera systems and sensors in detail with our own light, through the glass with polariser.
Detect, grip, join, place — overall view and gripper perspective, fast moves in slow motion.
Stand architecture and cell at standstill before opening, with no visitors in frame.
Collaboration at the arm and AGVs between visitors — documentary-style, no flash.
Application engineers and customers with radio mic, subtitles in German and English.
A post with your stand while the show is still running gets seen and shared. That is why every package includes finished photos and video within 24 hours after the event ends — first images usually the same day. Two revision rounds included.
A sample from our production: the event recap for your website and LinkedIn — below it, native 9:16 footage for Reels, Shorts and Stories, shot in parallel with the main coverage.
