A few things are different at a German fair. What Americans call a booth is a stand here, and exhibitor manuals and hall rules come from the venue in German and English. Photographing and filming your own stand needs no special permit: your crew needs an exhibitor pass from your allocation, and wider shots of the hall follow the organiser's rules. Many meetings at German fairs are booked in advance, which makes the busy moments on the stand predictable, and that is when we plan the conversation photos.
Flying a crew over from the US means airfare, hotel nights for the whole show and customs paperwork such as an ATA carnet for professional camera equipment. A local crew avoids all of that. Pixer is based in Essen, directly at Messe Essen, and works at every major German venue. The on-site team is two to three people; our founder Behzad Heidari has more than 20 years in film and TV production, and the editing team cuts remotely while you are still on the stand. Marketing technology and ad-tech companies meet European agencies and brands at dmexco in Cologne in September, and game studios and publishers present at gamescom in Cologne in August.
Semiconductor and component companies go to electronica in Munich, held every two years in November, and embedded and chip vendors to embedded world in Nuremberg in March. Cybersecurity vendors exhibit at it-sa in Nuremberg in October, and additive manufacturing companies at Formnext in Frankfurt in November. Consumer electronics brands go to IFA Berlin in September, and office furniture makers to ORGATEC in Cologne, held every two years in October.
US companies are outside the EU, so the invoice from Pixer GmbH carries no German VAT. Payment is by invoice or online by credit card; the details are in the quote. Prices are fixed: Trade Fair Basic €990 for two hours, Professional €1,490 for four hours, Full Day €1,990 for eight hours. The quote you approve is the amount on the invoice.
If your accounts payable team needs a vendor setup form or a purchase order number on the invoice, send it with the booking and we complete it before the show. Usage rights are unlimited and included, so nobody has to negotiate a licence for each channel.
Germany is six hours ahead of New York and nine ahead of California for most of the year, and that works in your favour. First selected photos usually go out the same evening German time, which is around midday or early afternoon on the East Coast, so the day-one LinkedIn post can go live on the same US business day. The complete edited set and the highlight video follow within 24 hours after the coverage ends, before you fly home.
