On the Hannover exhibition grounds, a trade fair photographer should handle machines in operation and clean sound despite hall noise, deliver within 24 hours, quote a fixed price with travel shown, grant unlimited usage rights and brief in English.

For a show in Hannover, choose a trade fair photographer who can photograph and film machines in operation, records interviews with clip-on microphones despite hall noise, and delivers photos and video within 24 hours. Also look for a fixed price with travel shown clearly, unlimited usage rights and an English-speaking crew.
On the rules there is good news: Deutsche Messe exempts productions that exhibitors run on their own stand, themselves or through a commissioned third party, from its permit requirement. You still need passes for the crew.
Use this to make quotes comparable. Ask for written answers in the quote.
| Criterion | Why it matters | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Machines in operation | Trade visitors want to see what a machine does, not only what it looks like. | "Will you agree the demo schedule with our engineers beforehand?" |
| Sound despite noise | Next to a running machine, an interview recorded with a camera microphone is rarely usable. | "Do you use clip-on microphones and schedule interviews between demos?" |
| Hall and open-air area | The grounds are organised in zones, plus a large open-air area. | "Will you plan the stand, stage and open-air area as one route?" |
| Permit and passes | Your own stand (booth) is exempt; shots elsewhere need clearance, and the crew needs access. | "How many passes or tickets do you need?" |
| Delivery time | First LinkedIn clips work best on the show day itself. | "When do the first images and clips arrive?" |
| Fixed price and travel | Crews from other cities add travel, and it belongs in the quote. | "Is travel shown separately and shared with other exhibitors?" |
| Rights until the next edition | EuroBLECH, LIGNA and Agritechnica do not run every year. | "Can we use the images without limits, including dealer presentations?" |
| Language | HANNOVER MESSE and Agritechnica draw exhibitors from all over the world. | "Can you run interviews in English, with subtitles?" |
According to Deutsche Messe, the grounds cover 392,500 square metres of hall space and 58,000 square metres of open-air area. Access is by zone: in the north, entrances Nord 1 and Nord 2 lead to Hall 2 and Halls 19/20; in the east, Ost 3 and Süd 1 lead to Halls 6 to 11 among others; the large Halls 13 and 27 in the west have their own entrances. Coming up are EuroBLECH (20–23 October 2026), EuroTier (10–13 November 2026), HANNOVER MESSE (5–8 April 2027) and LIGNA (10–14 May 2027).
Deutsche Messe's house and grounds regulations (July 2025) require prior written permission for commercial photo, film and online productions. Exempt are productions that exhibitors run on their own stand, themselves or via a commissioned third party. For shots away from the stand, for example at a shared stage or in the open-air area, clearance should be agreed in advance. Drones need prior written consent.
From the main station, light rail lines 8 and 18 take about 18 minutes to Messe/Nord according to the venue, and the ICE station Hannover Messe/Laatzen is right at entrance West 1. From the airport, the S5 runs to the main station. More on halls and entrances is on our Hannover venue page.
At long industrial shows like Agritechnica or HANNOVER MESSE, the billing model matters more than usual. Photographers with hourly rates often charge editing, video and travel separately, and across several show days that adds up. Package providers quote a fixed price per day for a defined scope. Always compare the total for the days you actually need.
With Pixer that is €990 for two hours, €1,490 for four hours or €1,990 for a full show day, each plus VAT. Travel from Essen is quoted once per trip and shared between exhibitors in the same show week. Covering every show day in full rarely pays off: a full first day for stand, team and film plus a shorter block on press-conference day is usually enough. Companies outside the EU are invoiced without German VAT. Plan your budget with the trade fair budget calculator.
Pixer GmbH is a photo and video studio from Essen, Germany, specialising in trade fair photography and video for exhibitors across Germany. For Hannover our crew travels in the evening before. We tell you in advance which entrance we will use, plan the stand, stage and open-air area as one route, and deliver photos, a highlight video and vertical clips within 24 hours of the show day ending. Please plan two to three exhibitor passes or tickets for the crew.
Packages and dates are on our Hannover page, and you can book online. How to request an exhibitor pass is explained in the trade fair glossary.
