What matters when you choose a trade fair photographer for Messe Düsseldorf: experience on these grounds, delivery within 24 hours, a fixed price, clear usage rights, an English-speaking crew and knowing the venue's photo rules.
All prices plus VAT · delivered within 24 hours · See all packages & details
For Messe Düsseldorf, choose a trade fair photographer who has already worked on exhibitor stands at this venue, delivers edited images the same day or within 24 hours at the latest, and quotes a written fixed price that includes unlimited usage rights. Just as important: a crew that runs the brief and interviews in English and knows the venue's photo and film rules, for example for shooting your stand after closing time.
Most quotes differ less in price than in these details. The table makes them comparable, and the venue section explains what is specific to Düsseldorf.
Use this to make quotes comparable. Ask for written answers in the quote.
| Criterion | Why it matters | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Experience at Messe Düsseldorf | 19 halls, mixed lighting and full aisles from opening: a crew that knows the grounds finds your stand (booth) without burning booked hours. | "Which Düsseldorf shows have you covered on exhibitor stands?" |
| Delivery time | If your team flies home on day three, the images from day one should already be on LinkedIn. | "When do we get a first selection, and when the full set?" |
| Pricing model | Hourly billing plus editing, travel and rights only shows its real total on the invoice. | "Is this a fixed price including editing, travel and usage rights?" |
| Usage rights | Show photos end up in catalogues, ads and with distributors in your home market. | "Can we and our partners use the images without limits in time and territory?" |
| Language | At MEDICA or ProWein, many exhibitors come from Asia, the Middle East or the US. | "Will the brief and the interviews run in English, with subtitles if needed?" |
| Venue photo rules | Shooting your own empty stand after closing needs a paid special permit in Düsseldorf. | "Do you know the permit process at Gate 2, and will you prepare the written order?" |
| Video and vertical clips | A highlight video and 9:16 clips only happen if they are planned from the start. | "Are video and vertical clips included in the price?" |
| Backup | A show day cannot be repeated. | "Who comes if the photographer falls ill?" |
Messe Düsseldorf has 19 halls on roughly 306,000 square metres. Coming up are glasstec (20–23 October 2026), MEDICA and COMPAMED (16–19 November 2026), boot (23–31 January 2027) and ProWein (7–9 March 2027). Each needs its own visual approach: devices in use at MEDICA, yachts with wide angles at boot, glasses and labels at ProWein, reflective surfaces at glasstec.
Under the venue's house rules and exhibitor information (March 2026), photography and filming on the grounds and in the halls are allowed within the law, which in Germany means GDPR and personality rights. Visitors must not be disturbed and escape routes stay clear. Exhibitors may declare a marked photo and film ban for their own stand, which matters for aisle shots. To photograph your own stand outside opening hours you need a paid special permit from the security control centre next to Gate 2: an ID card plus a written order from the stand holder, valid for one day until midnight. Drones need special permission.
In practice, clean stand photos are easiest in the last hour before opening, when your team is already there and the aisles are empty. Our office in Essen is about 30 minutes away. More on halls and logistics is on our Messe Düsseldorf venue page.
You will see two pricing models. Freelance photographers often bill by the hour or the day, with editing, travel, video and extended usage rights added depending on the quote. That works if you know exactly what you need, but it makes quotes hard to compare from abroad. Package providers quote a fixed price for a defined scope: time on the stand, a minimum number of images, video, delivery time and rights.
Pixer uses three fixed prices: €990 for two hours, €1,490 for four hours and €1,990 for a full show day, each plus VAT, with travel to Düsseldorf included. Compare every quote, ours included, against the table above, and check your overall show budget with the trade fair budget calculator.
Pixer GmbH is a photo and video studio from Essen, Germany, specialising in trade fair photography and video for exhibitors across Germany. In Düsseldorf we are on your stand before the doors open, photograph it empty, then move to conversations and demos, and deliver photos, a 30-second highlight video and vertical clips within 24 hours of the show day ending. Briefs and interviews run in English, German, Arabic or Farsi.
Packages and dates are on our Düsseldorf page, and you can book online. Terms like exhibitor pass or usage rights are explained in the trade fair glossary.

During opening hours, photography is allowed within the law. To shoot your own stand outside opening hours, you need a paid special permit from the security control centre next to Gate 2, with an ID card and a written order from the stand holder.
For the big show weeks, ask four to six weeks ahead. Short-notice requests are possible, but the choice of crews is smaller by then.
The last hour before opening for the empty stand. Between roughly 10:00 and 13:00 the aisles are busiest, which is the time for conversations and full-stand shots.
With hourly models the total depends on editing, video and rights. Pixer's fixed packages are €990, €1,490 and €1,990 plus VAT, with travel to Düsseldorf included.
