Trade fair film: a story instead of just cutaways

A trade fair film is a longer video from a show, usually around 90 seconds, that uses interviews and a clear structure to explain why an exhibitor was there.

Definition

The trade fair film is the most detailed of the usual show video formats. It does not just show atmosphere, it tells a story: who the exhibitor is, what they are presenting and what customers or partners say about it. To do that it combines footage of the stand and hall with short interview passages, product demonstrations and text overlays.

A length of around 90 seconds has proved itself. That is enough for a small story with a beginning, middle and end, yet short enough to be watched to the end on a website or in a newsletter. Longer versions are possible, for example for sales presentations.

What it means for exhibitors

A trade fair film makes sense when you want to show more than presence: a new product that needs explaining, customer voices or your company's position in a market. It is the format for the website, for sales conversations after the show, for distributors abroad and for internal communication.

Because it lives on what people say, it needs preparation. Decide before the show who will speak on camera, which two or three messages the film should carry and in which language. Check whether customers are willing to give a short statement and get their consent. Plan subtitles if the film will be used internationally. A good briefing saves a lot of time on the stand (booth) and makes sure you end up with a story, not just a string of images.

In practice

On show day the cutaways are filmed first, then the interviews at quieter moments when the sound stays clean. We film product demonstrations several times from different angles so the edit has options.

At Pixer the 90-second film is part of the Full Day package at €1,990, together with interviews, the 30-second highlight video and three vertical clips. For shorter packages it can be added for €190, together with an interview. Delivery is within 24 hours after the show ends, with subtitles in English, German, Arabic or Persian on request.
