Corner stand: the exhibition stand with two open sides

A corner stand is an exhibition stand at the end of a row that is open to two aisles. It can be seen and entered from two directions.

Definition

A corner stand sits where a row of stands meets a cross aisle. Two sides are open; the other two border a neighbouring stand and the back wall. Visitors reach it from two aisles, and it can be seen from two walking directions. In American English the same layout is called a corner stand (booth) as well.

For this advantage many organisers charge a surcharge compared with a row stand. How much it is, and whether corner stands can be chosen freely at all, is set out in the registration documents. Often the organiser decides on placement, and popular corners are allocated early.

What it means for exhibitors

A corner stand gives you more visibility, but only if both open sides are used. Often one side becomes the real front and the other a secondary side with storage. That wastes the advantage you paid for.

Plan the stand so that it looks inviting from both aisles. The corner itself is the most valuable spot: a tall logo element, an eye-catching product or an open counter work well there. Use the closed walls for brand surfaces and storage.

Think about traffic flow. When visitors cut across the stand it feels lively, but it can disturb conversations. A table or counter in the right position guides the flow without looking unwelcoming. The lighting should reach both sides too, so that no dark corner appears.

In practice

For photos, a corner stand is rewarding. From the diagonal across the corner we show both open sides, the back wall with the logo and the depth of the stand in a single image. This is usually the strongest overview a stand can offer.

During the show we move between both aisles and photograph conversations so that the brand remains visible in the background. In video we use the corner for camera moves that show the stand as a space. The guide Conversation photos at the stand explains how good conversation shots come about.

FAQ

Common questions

Is the surcharge for a corner stand worth it?

If you actively design both open sides, yes. You reach visitors from two directions and have more options for eye-catchers and traffic flow.

From which angle do you photograph a corner stand?

The overview is usually taken diagonally across the corner so that both open sides and the back wall are in the frame. Details and conversations follow from both aisles.
