A briefing is a summary of all the information a provider needs before a job: goal, dates, location, contact person, shots and the results you expect.
In photo and video production, the briefing is the document or conversation in which the client sets out what they expect. It answers the questions what for, when, where, who and what.
A trade fair briefing typically includes the show, hall and stand number, times, the contact person on site, fixed appointments such as talks or customer visits, the people who should appear in the pictures, the formats and channels you need, languages, brand guidelines and the deadline by which you need the material. It can be a one-page document, an email or a short call.
A good briefing is the best insurance for good results. Without one, a crew shoots what it thinks makes sense. With one, you get the images you actually need, such as the photo with your most important customer or the shot of the new product before it is sold.
It does not have to be long. One page is often enough if the key points are clear. Start with the goal: visibility on LinkedIn, material for sales, a report to head office or recruiting. Add the fixed appointments with times and the names of the people who should be on camera. Send logos, the spelling of names and product names. And name one person on your stand (booth) who can make decisions. The clearer the briefing, the fewer revisions you need later.
At Pixer we go through the briefing before the show in a short call or by email and turn it into a shot list. If it is your first show as an exhibitor, we suggest shots and a schedule that fit your goal.
On show day the job starts with a quick check on the stand: has anything moved, has an appointment been added, who is here today. That keeps the plan current and lets your team focus on talking to visitors. We handle briefings and interviews in English, German, Arabic or Persian.
One page is usually enough. Goal, fixed appointments, contact person and the people who should appear matter more than length.
That is normal. Send what is fixed and add the rest shortly before the show.
