A trade fair calendar is an overview of upcoming shows with dates, location, industry and cycle. Exhibitors use it to plan their trade fair year.
A trade fair calendar lists shows in date order, usually with name, dates, city, venue, industry and the cycle in which the show takes place. Trade fair companies publish their own calendars for their venues, associations such as AUMA provide overviews for all of Germany, and many industry portals keep their own lists.
Because many shows do not take place every year but every two or three years, a calendar also shows in which year a particular show comes round again. Dates can change, so the organiser's information always takes precedence.
For exhibitors the trade fair calendar is the basis of annual planning. It drives budget, staffing, stand construction, travel and the question of which shows are worth it. If you plan early, you secure better stand locations, cheaper hotels and a stand builder with free capacity.
The same goes for photo and video. In big show weeks experienced crews are in high demand, especially when several shows run in one city at the same time. So when you plan the show, also note which day you want photography and filming on your stand (booth), and enquire early. For international exhibitors it pays to combine several shows in Germany, because travel costs for providers can often be shared with other exhibitors at the same show week.
