The brief

What Rush needed at InterTabac 2026

Rush booked us for InterTabac 2026, held from 15 to 17 September 2026 at the Westfalenhallen Dortmund. InterTabac is the world's largest trade fair for tobacco products, vapes, nicotine pouches, hookah and smoking accessories, with InterSupply for suppliers running in parallel. Rush exhibited with its own stand (booth), stand team and hostesses, and we covered the appearance with photo and video.

The job had three parts. First, clean stand shots before the first trade visitors arrive: architecture, product wall, counter and details for the website, the press kit and the invitation to the next show. Second, material Rush could post while the show was still running, meaning one vertical reel per show day, each delivered the same evening. Third, content that keeps working after the show: a recap of the whole appearance and a client voice recorded directly on the stand.

On top of that came the conditions of a trade-only show. At InterTabac the stand team talks to retail, wholesale and distribution, and no shot may interrupt a sales conversation. The space is only empty before the doors open; after that it is full. And product and advertising claims stay entirely with the exhibitor: we photograph what is on the stand and make no statements about products. We know these conditions from the industry: YOOZ, izy, Vapes Bars and Hayati at World Vape Show in Dubai, Sunakin at Vapexpo Paris 2025 and Tyson at InterTabac 2023. Stands in this sector are bright, busy and loud, with LED walls, product walls and hostesses, and the images still have to look calm and clean.

On the show days

Before opening, in conversation, in the evening: how we shot it

Before opening. On day one we were on the stand before the halls opened to trade visitors at 10:00. That time went into overviews of the stand architecture, the product wall, the counter and the details, while the space was still empty and tidy. It is the only time without visitors or boxes in the frame. We photographed the cans on the table with our own colour-neutral light; for LED walls and displays we set shutter speed and white balance to match.

During show hours. Day two was about people: the stand team at work, sales conversations, visitors at the product wall, short portraits. Footfall peaks between 10:00 and 14:00, which is the time for conversations and a full stand. The set also includes hostesses with the product in hand and partners on the stand. There were two of us, with photo and vertical video running in parallel. We shoot reels natively in 9:16 rather than cropping them from landscape. The client voice was recorded in landscape with a radio mic and our own light, directly on the stand.

In the evening. Footage was uploaded during the day and our editing team worked in parallel. The reels for day one and day two went to the Rush marketing team the same evening, while the show was still running, and the photos arrived the same evening via a private link. The recap was edited after the show.

Result

What Rush received: photo set, two reels, recap, client voice

We delivered a photo set and four videos. The photos cover the stand architecture before opening, product details, the team, hostesses, partners and visitors in conversation, plus the north entrance of Messe Dortmund with the InterTabac and InterSupply welcome banner. The set comes in landscape, portrait and square formats: the stand shots for the website, the press kit and the invitation to the next show, the team and conversation photos for LinkedIn and sales.

The two vertical reels, one for day one and one for day two, are cut in 9:16 for Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn. After the show came a recap of just under three minutes in vertical format, summing up the whole appearance. The landscape client voice is the piece that works longest: it fits the website, LinkedIn and sales proposals, and it does not date the way a show recap does.

All four videos and a selection from the photo set are shown below exactly as they were delivered. What Rush says in the client voice you can hear in the video itself; we do not paraphrase it here. Usage rights are unlimited, for web, social media, print and trade fairs, with no time limit, and two revision rounds are included in every package.

Learnings

What exhibitors at InterTabac can take from this

Book the time before opening. Clean stand photos without visitors or boxes only happen before the halls open. If you need those images for your website and press kit, plan day one from that point and have the stand ready by then: counter clear, product wall filled, screens and LED walls switched on. Many exhibitors book the full first day and four hours on day two.

Reels the same evening, not a week later. A post showing your stand while the show is still running gets seen and shared. That needs uploads during the day, an editing team working in parallel and one person on your side who approves and publishes in the evening. For Rush, the reels went out on the evening of both days.

Plan the client voice in advance. A statement on the stand needs a quiet corner with the stand graphic behind the speaker, sound without hall noise and a few open questions instead of memorised lines. Decide beforehand who speaks and in which language; we subtitle in EN, DE, AR or FA. Late afternoon works best, when footfall drops.

Clear permissions and claims. An exhibitor badge from the exhibitor portal covers filming on your own stand; aisles and other stands need organiser media accreditation, which we request through you. Product and advertising claims in clips and captions stay with you. The next InterTabac runs from 14 to 16 September 2027. Our office is at Messe Essen, about 40 minutes from the Westfalenhallen, and travel to Dortmund is included in every package. Ask six to eight weeks ahead; we cover several exhibitors in Dortmund during the show week.
